On behalf of the Arkansas Vape Advocacy Alliance I’d like to invite you to participate in our Annual State Meeting and become an Associate Member of our Association. The meeting will take place February 7-9, 2020 at the Comfort Inn and Suites Presidential in Downtown Little Rock Arkansas. We need all of the help we can get in the current climate so the main purpose of this meeting will be to rally the troops and raise money for our Political Action Committee. Lawmakers in Arkansas are currently proposing a devastating 67% wholesale tax on all vape products. This will end vape shops in Arkansas.
We have two ways for you to be involved. Firstly, we would love for you to become an Associate Member of our Association and attend our meeting. We will house the vape lounge in the same space as the Associate Members in the hotel ballroom. Your membership will include space in the “vape lounge” for you to demonstrate your products and interact with attendees. This is the only place on the property that allows vaping. The meeting will have stores and consumers alike so its the perfect opportunity to showcase your goods to the stores as well as the consumers who will want to buy your products for the stores. Your membership will include logo placement on materials and you will receive 4 solicitation emails to our members as well as other benefits.
Secondly, If you would like to help fund the fight directly, we will hold our PAC event on Saturday, February 8th. Your PAC donation and silent auction gift will help us fight the proposed state 67% wholesale tax here in Arkansas. Your sponsorship will include tickets to the event and the opportunity to say a few words.
We’ll start Friday by opening the vendor hall and vape lounge at 5. We will do the welcome there and will have a sponsored dinner nearby. Saturday we will have a panel discussion and Q&A, social media training, a Washington DC update and a training session on Advocacy. We will wrap up Sunday at noon with a board meeting.
We want to offer you the opportunity to showcase your products to your customers but in lieu of offering you space for money like an expo, we are inviting you to be a year long partner with our industry in Arkansas. We want you to come for the weekend, get to know your customers, set up a hospitality suite and build relationships.

Those of you who took the time to call and/or email your legislators have helped keep vapor products available to the thousands of vapers and smokers trying to quit in Arkansas!
We are passionate about vapor products because they helped all of us quit smoking and live a healthier lifestyle! Vaping is not smoking. It is harm reduction and should be treated as such.
We educated our lawmakers this session and defeated not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 SEPARATE TAX BILLS this session alone. Any of those bills would have decimated the vapor industry in the state and made products unavailable to adult vapers and Arkansans looking to quit smoking.

Arkansas Vape Advocacy Alliance has successfully lobbied to remove the 10 cents per ml verbiage from HB1565. In fact, any mention of a vapor tax was ultimately removed!
T21 language remains concerning vapor products. This is still a challenge we are working to face. It takes a community of concerned citizens contacting their lawmakers to bring about change. We are harm reduction products, not deadly combustible tobacco.
There is ANOTHER tax bill coming, but it has not been drafted, so we don’t know what it looks like yet. Stay informed and stay vigilant.
